CAN WE DO PART TIME?

Yes. For some families part time is the best option for their children or schedules. If you would prefer two or three days per week we will try our best to make that work for you.  

Are there subsidies available?

Yes. Families can apply through Alberta Children’s Services for the Preschool Subsidy of $125 per month*. This amount will be deducted from your monthly fees, as well as an additional $75 per month with the Affordability Grant, which you do not need to apply for.
*Families that earn less than $180,000 per household per year should qualify for the Preschool Subsidy.

ARE PARENT DAYS REQUIRED?

No. Parents are welcome to come in and spend time in class with their children but we do not ask for volunteers.
 

DO YOU TAKE THE CHILDREN ON FIELD TRIPS?

Yes. We try to organize at least two out of school field trips per year and one in house event. All field trips and in house events relate to the themes we are studying at the time.
 

DO WE NEED TO SUPPLY SNACKS?

No. All snacks are supplied by the school and in true Montessori fashion the children help to prepare the snacks and serve themselves. This is one of their favourite parts of coming to school!
 

HOW DO YOU DISCIPLINE THE CHILDREN?

From the very first day the children come into our program they are treated with respect and kindness and are encouraged to ensure that their classroom is a safe and happy environment. We verbally praise thoughtful gestures and model the behaviour that helps to make our classroom a peaceful, loving space. Misbehaviour is treated with calm gentle voices and redirection; if this does not work then we ask parents to help their little one understand.
